Without the engine, Split-Fire's skid steer log splitter products are indeed maintenance-free and designed to be used heavily year-after-year. Available in both upright and inverted configurations, the skid steer log splitter can either be operated from internal cab controls, or a valve on the top of the machine. Inverted configurations offer the ability to split large unmanageable rounds from the comfort of the skid steer cab (with visibility of the knife position via the yellow flag); while upright configurations are controlled via valve operation to offer a more conventional splitting experience. Due to Split-Fire’s combination of machine features that reduce fluid and sliding friction, the most efficient delivery of splitting force is ensured. You’ll find Split-Fire’s unique friction reducing engineering attributes, and value-added features on all of our 2-Way log splitters; including the use of sliders made of extremely tough plastic (UHMW) with high abrasion and wear resistance to glide the knife back-and-forth with reduced energy losses.
